Tucked away as chesil’s secret gem, Chesil Beach Café in Abbotsbury has become well known for its delicious breakfasts, locally sourced fresh seafood lunches and its tasty selection of homemade daily artisan sweet and savoury bakes. The Portland Crab Sandwich is a firm favourite with reviewers!

You can choose to dine in alfresco or takeaway for a memorable picnic on the iconic beach, with views of the coastline that span over 18 miles across the Jurassic Coast.

Large tables mean it’s great for group bookings or celebrations. The café is licensed too, so you can treat yourself to that tipple! Bookings are welcomed for groups of 8 people or more.

Chesil Beach Café is dog friendly, there is a public car park with plenty of spaces (£1phr), an access friendly boardwalk that leads you to the beach for incredible views, plus 24-hour toilets.

Directions: If driving, follow the signs to Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens and keep going until you reach the beach. For walkers, the café is right on the south west coast path, making it an ideal pit stop after seeing sights such as St Catherine’s Chapel. If travelling by bus, the X53 Coastliner stops at the top of hill and you can choose to walk down the hill to the beach by road, or a more scenic route across public footpaths.
