It is early February in Abbotsbury: snowdrops and primroses are blooming and the daffodils are rapidly emerging. Whist most of the rest of the country has suffered with snow and frosts over the winter months, in Abbotsbury we have a little micro-climate that ensures Spring arrives here early. From the middle of this month magnolias, camellia and vibrant spring colour are all to be seen in village gardens and in the Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens.

Exciting news recently announced is that Abbotsbury and surrounding area is applying for National Park status – and so it should be – the Jurassic coastline here is absolutely stunning and still virtually unspoiled. The panoramic views from St. Catherine’s Chapel, across the seascape of Lyme Bay or inland overlooking the village towards the Ridgeway Hills is truly inspirational.

Why not enjoy a romantic Valentine’s mini break in Abbotsbury village – with a Valentine’s bouquet from our Artisan Flower Shop perhaps?
